Steve Lonegan Files for Senate Seat with over 7000 signatures from 21 counties
June 10 2013
TRENTON – Off to the races, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Steve
Lonegan filed 7,210 petition signatures today to qualify for the August
13th primary and October 16th general election.
“I am humbled by the volunteer efforts of more than 250 great people
from all 21 counties who worked tirelessly starting Tuesday night to
help us reach this goal,” Lonegan said. “It’s the nucleus of a
grass-roots movement that will deliver a Republican Senate seat for New
Jersey in the first time in more than four decades.”
Lonegan said that Republicans from Tea Party activists to regular
party people have united behind his candidacy and that New Jersey will
see the greatest grass-roots political campaign in history.
“People are fed up with the radical agenda of Barack Obama and his
rubber-stamp supporters and enablers like Cory Booker and the other
Democrats filing petitions today,” Lonegan said. “The support we
received this weekend is just the first sign. There will be many others
over the next four months. I will win this election on October 16th.”
